The BoardWalk at Walt Disney World

Since we have become Disney World season pass holders, we have spent a good amount of time at Disney's BoardWalk resort. I love walking around the Jersey Shore styled BoardWalk and feeling like I'm in a beach town right here in Orlando!

Plus, you can't beat being able to park at the resort for free and then walking to Epcot! This definitely helps saves money if you have the seasonal pass like us which does not include parking fees (typically around $16). That's money that could be spent on food or drinks in the parks or at the resorts in my opinion. (Keep reading to learn how you can get to Epcot by walking from the BoardWalk)

Disney's BoardWalk is a waterfront dining, shopping, and entertainment complex located at Walt Disney World Orlando. Located on Crescent Lake, the complex provides easy access to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios. The BoardWalk has a little something for everyone whether you are looking to grab a bite to eat, have a cocktail, watch a sports game, dance the night away and so on.

Entertainment

Aside from walking around and enjoying the Jersey shore type atmosphere, you can also get your drink on at any of these venues:

Jellyrolls - a 21+ only dueling piano bar

Atlantic Dance Hall - a nightclub that features hits from the 80's, 90's and today

ESPN Club - A sports bar with over 100 televisions

If you are looking for some Fun in the Sun that doesn't include cocktails, you can rent a bike from Surrey Bikes and cruise down the BoardWalk on a 2, 4, or 6 seater bike.

When you are done walking around the BoardWalk, you can hop on a boat and head to one of the many other resorts, Hollywood Studios or to Epcot. (Note that there may be other stops before your destination and it can take some time to get where you're going). We took the boat from the BoardWalk to Hollywood Studios and had two stops before we got there.

If you don't want to wait for the boat, you can also walk to Epcot by walking past the ESPN Club and making a right just over the bridge. This back entrance to the park will bring you to the World Showcase next to France.

  1. I love hanging out at the Boardwalk, especially at ESPN. They also have a place called Beaches and Cream Soda shop where you can get a sundae called The Kitchen Sink....it literally has everything in it, including the kitchen sink (that is what it is served in). Definitely have to get one on your next trip! http://www.onlywdworld.com/2011/07/beaches-cream-kitchen-sink-ultimate.html
