Bohemian Celebration Lakeside Bar & Grill Magical Dining

It's that wonderful time of year again! Orlando's Magical Dining Month is back and we are excited to try out some of the areas best restaurants and share our experiences with Fun in the Sun readers!

For those of you who aren't familiar with Magical Dining, once a year in September, you can dine at select fine dining restaurants in Orlando for $33 per person for an appetizer, entree, and dessert. One dollar from each meal will be donated to ELEVATE Orlando! You can view a list of the participating restaurants and their menu here: Magical Dining Restaurants/Menus

Our first Magical Dining experience this year was the Lakeside Bar & Grill at the Bohemian Hotel in Celebration.

We walked into the lobby of the Bohemian hotel which sits along the lake in downtown Celebration and had a drink at the bar before being sat at our table which was also in the lobby of the hotel. The bar in the lobby was pretty normal but I found it strange that the tables for the restaurant were also set up alongside the check-in desk for the hotel. They were able to accommodate our party of ten at a table in the middle of the restaurant under a huge chandelier! They also have lakeside patio seating available.

I ordered an apple martini which was a little overpriced at $12 but was pretty tasty. They do offer Happy Hour from 4pm-7pm with $5 cocktails, wines, and beers if you are able to make it before 7pm!

Appetizers

Pretty much everyone in our party ordered the Filet Mignon Eggroll as an appetizer however they only had 3 orders left so we were left to share with the table. Once I took a bite, I instantly understood why they ran out! The filet melts in your mouth, the eggroll was perfectly crisp, and the sauce tied the whole dish together perfectly! It's a shame they don't have this dish on their regular menu because it was mouth-watering good!

We also tried the Heirloom Tomatoes and Burrata which consisted of Florida tomatoes, aged balsamic, soft and creamy mozzarella, micro basil, and olive oil. I was really excited about this dish but was disappointed when it came out. The balsamic was very bland and the whole dish lacked flavor. I would avoid it in the future.

The third choice on the list was the Fish Chips which the server recommended we stay away from. Enough said.

Entrees

My fiance ordered the Mediterranean Salmon but it was way overcooked. He said it would have been a good dish if the salmon was cooked properly.

I had the Pork Tenderloin which was fantastic! The sauce on top of the pork was supposed to be a Dijon mustard sauce but tasted more like the gravy you would have over biscuits and gravy. Yum! The sides were pretty plain however there was enough meat to fill me up so I was happy.

Dessert

We got the Chocolate Lava Cake and the Salted Caramel Cheesecake for dessert both of which were amazing! The chocolate cake was pretty rich but the ice cream that was served alongside it balanced the flavor out nicely.

The Salted Caramel Cheesecake had a crushed walnut crust that was amazing! I'm a huge cheesecake fan so I loved this dish.

Overall, I was pretty happy with the food I ordered but it wasn't anything I would go out of my way for. The atmosphere was great and it would be a nice place to relax and have a cocktail but I definitely wouldn't order from the over-priced regular menu. It was a good excuse to get dressed up and have dinner with friends though.

Have you ever been to the Bohemian Hotel and eaten at the Lakeside Grill? What did you think?
