Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort

 photo HiltonDaytonaBeach.png

I had the pleasure of staying at the Hilton Oceanfront Resort in Daytona Beach when my uncle and cousins were in town and enjoyed my experience there. The resort and Daytona Beach in general were pretty quiet since all the kids had just gone back to school which made our stay nice and relaxing!

The hotel is right on the beach next to the Ocean Walk Shoppes and outdoor amphitheater. We stayed in the south tower closer to the boardwalk and amusement rides and were close enough that we could hear people on the slingshot ride from our room. The one complaint I did have however was the $16/night parking fee in the lot across the street plus the other resort fees charged when checking in.

The hotel:

Features:
-744 guest rooms, suites
-Beachfront cabanas
-7 restaurants
-Lounges including room service, sports bar, pool bar and full service dining
-Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse
-The Spa at the Hilton
-Two heated pools and complete fitness center
-100% non-smoking hotel
-Expansive pool deck
-D-Dawg's Kidszone with planned children's activities
-Children's pool
-60,000 square feet of flexible indoor space and scenic outdoor space
-29 individual meeting rooms
-Full service in-house audio/visual department
-Directly across from the Ocean Center Convention Center with over 200,000 sq ft of meeting space

The Clock-Tower Lounge was just off the lobby to the left of the front desk and offered live music nightly and Happy Hour from 4-6pm plus views of the clock tower and the beach beyond it.

The Room:

I wasn't able to take any photos of our room (a standard ocean view room on the 14th floor) because we got in pretty late however I did get to check out an ocean front suite to show you! The suite was pretty similar to the standard room except that it had a separate living area. I liked our view of the ocean from the 14th floor a lot better than the view from the suite on the first floor but it would have been nice to have the extra space.

The Pool:
The pool area is huge and the pool itself has such a unique shape to accommodate multiple parties! There was a small section that was built into the hotel if you would rather relax in the pool inside.

The room with the indoor section of the pool also houses an indoor whirlpool and the spa.

A big pool deck wouldn't be complete without a pool bar! The Pelican Bar offers beach views although wasn't as big as you would expect it to be for such a huge resort. I talked to the bartender for a bit and learned that you aren't able to bring drinks on the beach there. I've definitely been to Daytona Beach and brought drinks with us though so I don't know if it was just this part of the beach or we were breaking the rules. The latter is probably more likely.

The deck did have multiple seating areas however if you weren't able to find a seat at the bar. photo BeachsidePatioHilton.jpg

The Shop:
There is a beach shop located on the first floor where you can find apparel, souvenirs, and beach gear, as well as rent bicycles and boogie boards by the hour.

The Beach:

The beach is just across the boardwalk from the hotel so I got up at 5:45am to catch the sunrise on the beach which is absolutely nuts for me because I am NOT a morning person! It was so worth it though! There were a few joggers out and some people riding bikes but other than that, it was very peaceful watching the sun come up over the clouds.
