Caribe Royale in Orlando

When Matt proposed to me on Thanksgiving, he had the following weekend all planned out including a suite booked at the Caribe Royale All-Suite Hotel and Convention Center. The hotel is 5 minutes from Disney property making it an ideal property for us since we were looking to spend some time at the parks. I was surprised at the number of families with small children staying at the resort but it makes sense considering the close proximity of Disney World.

Although we did not spend a ton of time at the resort, we did have some time and explore a bit to enjoy the beautifully landscaped property before heading to the parks. There were people swimming in the pool at the end of November which seemed crazy to us but we later learned that the pool is heated. My thought process on that was "You have to get out at some point!" and considering we were walking around in hoodies and were still cold, taking a dip was not on the list of things we waned to do!

The hotel has a very elegant feel to it which is apparent by the front desk/main lobby photo:

You also get a little taste of Florida walking through the resort from the faux palms in the main lobby. photo CaribeRoyaleLobby.jpeg

The Pool

The pool is beautiful and serves as the centerpiece for the hotel between the three towers. There is also a kiddie pool on the backside of the main pool for the real little ones.

If you want to take a break from all the Fun in the Sun, you can hang out in the arcade located right on the pool deck. photo PoolArcade.jpeg

There is also a snack bar right on the pool deck. I don't know how these kids weren't freezing their tails off! photo PoolSnackBar.jpeg

They also had a set up for live music on the pool deck which was an awesome touch! You can't beat hanging out by the water with a drink while listening to some live music!

Our Room
When you walk into the suite, there is a living area with a sofa, chair, tables, office area, and the entertainment center that includes a microwave and mini fridge. photo LivingRoomArea.jpeg photo OfficeArea.jpeg photo TVinroom.jpg

There is a door that separates the other half of the suite containing the bedroom and bathroom. The bed was nice but a little too firm for our taste. There is plenty of storage space if you like to unpack while on vacation. We were just staying the one night though and were okay with living out of the suitcase.

The bathroom is a decent size for a hotel room and even extends into the hallway with another sink. The Jacuzzi tub is huge and actually fit the two of us! We never take baths so it was nice to be able to relax with some bubbles and a bottle of wine as a newly engaged couple. ♥

The view from our room included plenty of palm trees which always make me happy!

Breakfast Buffet

Our stay included a complementary breakfast buffet at the Tropicale so we took advantage of that before heading to Disney for the day. It was pretty much what you would expect from a hotel breakfast buffet but with a little more variety. The quality of the food wasn't anything to write home about (the eggs were super runny and bacon tasted like microwave bacon) but was decent. The homemade waffles and omelets were definitely the way to go although I didn't see the station until after I had already made a big plate from the buffet.

Holiday Decorations at the Caribe Royale

They were still setting up the tree and other decorations, but there was the cutest gingerbread village in the main lobby! The details were incredible and it was cool to see all the different types of candy used.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Caribe Royale and will definitely be back! I have heard great things about The Venetian Room so we will be back to check it out!

  1. Congrats on your engagement! I have never been to this hotel and it is totally swanky. Looks like it even works well if you had to fit some business travel in there!
